Golden Knights Move One Win Away from Advancing
The Vegas Golden Knights edged the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 to take a 3-2 lead in their second-round playoff series on Thursday night. Jack Eichel led the charge for Vegas, scoring a goal and adding two assists.
The Oilers struck first when Connor McDavid scored just over a minute into the game. However, the Golden Knights responded quickly, tying the game just four minutes later on a goal by Nick Bjugstad. Bjugstad added another goal in the second period to give Vegas a 2-1 lead.
Zach Hyman tied the game for Edmonton in the third period, but the Golden Knights took the lead back just over two minutes later on a goal by Eichel. Mark Stone added an empty-net goal in the final minute to seal the victory.
Mike Smith made 29 saves in goal for Edmonton, while Robin Lehner made 28 saves for Vegas. The series now shifts to Edmonton for Game 6 on Saturday night.
